Just What I See, Greg Schmigel

Greg Schmigel is a street photographer whose photographs take a candid look at everyday moments -- the lives of the people and strangers he encounters on the street or in public places.

"As a street photographer, I have always felt that 90% of photography is about what the photographer sees. The choice of camera makes up the rest. My camera of choice is an iPhone. My iPhone just happens to be the camera that's always with me.  I am not an iPhoneographer. I am a street photographer who uses an iPhone as my camera."

Greg's presentation will take us through a series of his exhibited works and some of his private photographs.  The artist will point out key elements regarding composition, framing, and other elements of "just what he sees."

The Art of Converting Your Photos to B&W, Steve Rosenbach

With digital photography, converting your photos to black and white can literally be as simple as pushing a button. To get really dramatic results requires a more deliberate and thoughtful approach, however. Steve Rosenbach conducts a tutorial on converting your color digital photos to black and white using popular software applications Picassa, Photoshop Elements, Photoshop CS5, and just for fun, a Photoshop/Lightroom plug-in. Learn the best ways to turn your color photos into B&W art in this informative session.

See what others wanted to say about their tour...

"I have learned more in a few hours of a Photo Tour than in weeks of classes. The instruction is clear and approachable, and I have remembered it long after the tour."

"Lyn is a seasoned photographer that has passion for what he does. As a very enthusiastic, amiable guide, Lyn provides superlative coaching, starting with a group orientation about the essentials of photography, and then by giving each tour participate hands-on coaching with as much or as little as the student needs. Ample time is provided along the tour route so that one can leisurely find and take the shots they want. At the end of the tour, a recap of the 10 photo essentials, really helped reinforce the days lessons."
